Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars Series book: Yes Will I read the next book: Yes I'm just...at a lost for words. Trust me, that does not happen often. I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, I knew I'd enjoy it, just not so much. Thanks to the writing, the book was easy to read. On a scale of Lauren Kate to Jennifer L. Armentrout (Lauren Kate obviously being the lowest) I'd say Accardo falls a couple notches below Armentrout. It was smooth, easy to read, and generally enjoyable. I don't know about you, but I haven't read many books about anyone with a killer touch. It was actually one of the reasons I almost didn't read this book. But I'm glad I did. The plot wasn't totally original, but it wasn't totally cliche either. Yeah, the deadly touch thing was new to me, but the whole deadly-corporation-that-uses-freaky-people-with-freaky-abilities thing has come up before. And that secret hinted at in the synopsis...really not that big of a shocker. But that's okay, there was enough originality to keep me satisfied. When I started Touch, I almost instantly started to dislike Dez. It only lasted about a chapter, but i couldn't understand why she was so..whats the word? Oh yeah, bitchy. To put it nicely. But after reading a little bit, I started to like her. I liked her kick-ass sarcastic attitude. I guess I just just thought she was bitchy because I didn't understand why she wanted to piss her dad off so much. Then, when I saw how much of a dick he was, I was just like ohhh...I would wanna piss him off too. Basically, the characters were perfect. They all had 3D personalities. None of that if-you're-not-a-main-character-you-don't-get-personality stuff. Everyone had something different about them. And I enjoyed that change of pace from some recently disappointing books character wise. Kale was perfect. He was just so adorable not understanding anything, but at the same time totally swoon-worthy because he was so sweet in an innocent kind of way. Don't get me wrong, I love a good bad boy (or rather, a bad bad boy. Ha.) but his innocent good boy thing was amazing. He may be deadly, but he is totally adorable. Like a chipmunk with rabies. I guess that might not be that cute, but you get my point. Favorite quotes: “As long as I know this" - he lifted our joined hands - "is mine to hold, I'll wait for you forever.” “All these places I want to go don't exist without you. All my goals come from one place. You. You are my biggest goal. That's not wrong, is it?” “I wondered what the FML post would look like. "Today, when my father tried to shoot me, I found out he was an assassin monger who's been keeping my mom locked away in a secret facility for freaky killers. FML." Seriously. F.M.L.” “My jaw dropped. Forget balls, this guy had boulders.” SUMMARY OF REVIEW(In case you don't actually feel like reading the review): Plot: 4 out of 5 Not totally original, but not totally cliche Characters: 5 out of 5 All had personalities, not just some Romance: 5 out of 5 Kale was so sweet and adorable and innocent!!!
